MiMsKanban Studio
How a local-first kanban works
Open the desk. Look at Sample. Move a card. Start your own board. The work stays in this browser.
What a kanban is
A kanban board is a row of stages. Each column is a stage — To do, Doing, Done, or whatever the job needs. Each card is one piece of work. Drag a card as it progresses. MiMs Kanban Studio is that board in the browser, with limits, due dates, and a calendar. It is not a cloud workspace.
1. Open the board
MiMs Kanban Studio loads a kanban in the browser. You do not need an account to look or to start a board of your own.
2. Read the sample
Sample is a print job moving through Commission, Make-ready, On press, Proof, Bound. It is look-only so you can see columns, limits, and cards without editing the guide.
3. Move work
Each column is a stage. Each card is one job. Drag a card to the next column as it progresses — including into an empty column. That is the whole kanban idea.
4. Start your own
Open Boards and start a press. Add columns. New card puts work on. A due date lands it on the calendar. Filter by colour, class, overdue, or hand. Archive when it is off the board.
5. Optional: Studio kit
If you want a board typed for you, open Studio kit. “Build a weekly editorial board” opens a new board and leaves this one alone. “Add three rush cards due today” writes on the open board. Allow tools, or stop a long turn. Credits apply. See Studio kit.
6. It stays here
Columns and cards are stored in this browser. Export JSON if you want a file. We do not keep your board as a server workspace. Privacy.
